BMB On Break

It’s time again for a little BMB R&R, especially with the market behaving as bizarrely as it’s been. Maybe if we stop watching it start to behave a little better…

Posting will be very light and variable over the course of this week, but we’ll put up an open thread each market day for our readers to comment on the day’s market activity or to post any interesting links they might run across.

Check the space below for whatever the latest might be during this ‘off’ time, and please visit the various sites in the ‘Links’ and ‘Regular Stops’ for up-to-date market news and analysis.

BMB will be back in full swing by next weekend.

The Chips Are Down

Or at least, they should be. And ultimately, they will be if Bill Fleckenstein’s analysis is correct.

What’s Hot, What’s Not

Items of note on the latest industry moves:

  • Energy related stocks still dominate the ‘best’ list.
  • Housing stocks continue to be strong. That is likely to remain the case until interest rates finally give way and go higher or the housing market shows signs of weakness - if that happens. It ain’t over ’til it’s over.
  • Some tech stocks caught a bid last week - the disk drive stocks and semiconductors. Not so for the internet and networking stocks.
  • Airlines continue to bounce in and out of air pockets. I’ll stay away.
