BMB On Break

It’s time again for a little BMB R&R, especially with the market behaving as bizarrely as it’s been. Maybe if we stop watching it start to behave a little better…

Posting will be very light and variable over the course of this week, but we’ll put up an open thread each market day for our readers to comment on the day’s market activity or to post any interesting links they might run across.

Check the space below for whatever the latest might be during this ‘off’ time, and please visit the various sites in the ‘Links’ and ‘Regular Stops’ for up-to-date market news and analysis.

BMB will be back in full swing by next weekend.

Weekend Sector Scan

XLE chart Energy stocks made a nice recovery on Friday, and appear to be forming a bullish continuation ‘flag’. Look for another leg up if this pattern breaks to the upside soon.
XLU chart Utilities just keep on chugging along, making new highs. Might as well stick with ‘em as long as the uptrend is intact.
XLF chart Financial stocks are showing some strength, held up by all of the news and M&A activity in the sector.
XLK chart Still lots of talk of a rally in tech. To me, it looks like the month of May might have been it. Right now, it looks more like a tech rollover, with a lot of resistance formed just above 20. This coincides with weakness in the internets, semiconductors and the Nasdaq 100.
XLV chart Health care stocks just can’t get anything going after a nice start to the year. The recent breakout failed, and now it looks like support is being tested on the down side.
