BMB On Break

It’s time again for a little BMB R&R, especially with the market behaving as bizarrely as it’s been. Maybe if we stop watching it start to behave a little better…

Posting will be very light and variable over the course of this week, but we’ll put up an open thread each market day for our readers to comment on the day’s market activity or to post any interesting links they might run across.

Check the space below for whatever the latest might be during this ‘off’ time, and please visit the various sites in the ‘Links’ and ‘Regular Stops’ for up-to-date market news and analysis.

BMB will be back in full swing by next weekend.

Weekend Sector Scan

XLE chart Energy stocks are following oil prices pretty closely for the time being, and the XLE looks to be consolidating between 57-59.
XLB chart Materials stocks had a solid week. Still looking strong, if not a little extended.
XLI chart The Industrials had a big close to the week. Strong here too.
XLF chart Financials pulled back after last week’s breakout, but followed through later in the week.
XLU chart The Utilities appear to have put in a bottom for now. With interest rates still on the rise, I’m not big on the XLU here, so I’ll need more convincing before I would step in.
XLV chart Health care still stinking it up, big time. Stay away.
